Here are some of the students at the control room getting ready to do an interview show called " PatchView". Each student has a job to do and this changes after every third show. I allow the students to request jobs so that they can experience a wide range of technology.

On PatchView we have interviewed the tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams, actor Mark Espinoza from Beverly Hills 90210, tennis star Alexandria Stevenson, and one of the astronauts from NASA.

Here we are with Alexandria Stevenson on PatchView

Students get to use computers to enhance our TV productions.
They use them to put slides on the chromakey, to use as a teleprompter, and to edit videos. We now have a ScreenPlay turnkey editing system that we hope to learn and use this year.

Students get to use the latest equipment--we use the Panasonic AG195 and use Word connected to a scanconverter to act as a TelePromTer.

My students make videos for the 24 Hour Marathon, the ROTC Ball, and the Bazaar.

Both 7th and 8th graders get to use camcorders and external mics to do Q and A's. They all get to learn to use the video mixer-MX1 by Videonics along with their titler. The students use the control room to mix sound, do playback, and the 8th graders use chromakey for their shows.

Some of the best junior high are kept for the second semester to edit the faces of patch and other videos for the Video Yearbook.
